Why have we been quiet, well we’ve been busy…

We’ve been a bit quiet as of late, but it’s not because nothing is happening we are simply getting on with some good old fashioned karate training, whilst you will always see lots of posts about gradings and competitions most of the time we are doing the day to day task of becoming better at our karate. We have recently been looking at grading syllabus, Heian kata plus an in depth look at the kata Nijushiho and it’s Bunkai. A look at the katas Sochin and Unsu with their associated applications and much much more.

Here are a couple of photos we have taken after our black and brown belt sessions at the Weoley Castle and longbridge dojos.

Well done Jacob at the Cheshire Cup

We are very proud of this young man, today he won a gold and three silver medals at the Cheshire Cup.

Grading

Congratulations to Faye Tonkinson on achieving Nidan.

 

 

Special congratulations to Faye Tonkinson who passed her 2nd (Nidan) grading with Sensei Susan Hession 4th Dan and Sensei Austin Birks 5th Dan.

Also giving support were Dorien Cummins, Carol Lesley and her friend Lin! Faye would also like to convey her thanks to her kumite partners, Blake and Mike.

Another haul of medals at the KGS Series Competitions

Well done Jacob McBride and Michael Paul for your successes at todays KWON Grand Slam series competition. Also a first for a student from BHSKC / WCSKC “Magic” Mike Paul has won our first medal for a weapons category.

Congratulations -Team BHSKC / WCSKC at the GB Open…

Sunday 7th January 2018 saw the attendance by 6 students of BHSKC / WCSKC competing at the delayed GB open final for 2017.  A successful day with the team heading home with a seven medal tally. Special mention must go to Jack who on his first outing successful achieved a gold medal.
