Yvonne Skalban trained for many years with the late Shihan Cyril Cummins 8th dan, achieving the rank of Shodan in 2016 under Shihan Cummins. She continued training and passed her Nidan in 2019 under another former student of Shihan Cumins and Chief Instructor of Enso Shotokan Karate, Sensei Austin Birks 6th Dan. During this time she became involved in many of the background activities of the club, working on its web site, newsletter and becoming the de-facto photographer for club events. She continued to explore her creative streak producing videos for the club and her other endeavours which she has continued at Enso SKC where amonst other roles she is the Media Administrator. In one of her earlier forays into video Yvonne was responsible for the very touching tribute video to Shihan Cummins which she created upon his death which can be viewed here
Yvonne has now taken her interest in photography, design and videography to the next level and provides videography services as EV Productions. Yvonne background in karate gives her a special insight into filming martial arts combined with a natural talent that produces stunning results.
