Sensei Angela Notice started training in karate many years ago with Shihan Cyril Cummins. After a break from training she returned and started training at Birmingham and Weoley Castle Shotokan Karate where she achieved her first dan under a grading panel with Sensei Hession and Sensei Amuzu in 2019 and gained her second dan in 2021. Angela passed her third Dan grading in December 2025 under Sensei Susan Hession 5th Dan and Sensei Richard Amuzu 5th Dan. Angela holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the British Army Reserves and is the Deputy Commandant. and County Training Officer for the Army Cadet forces in the region. Using her obvious skills for teaching she has become an assistant instructor at the club.
